Mexico homicide victim’s friends said he “had the biggest heart”
UPDATE 9:30 p.m.: People who knew Tajuan Williams, a victim of a deadly shooting Friday evening, tell ABC 17 News “his smile was bright.”
Williams childhood friend, Heather Bensley said he loved basketball.
She said he “always could make you laugh,” and “looking out for the best in people close to him.”
UPDATE, 2/2: Mexico Public Safety officers said they have arrested three teenagers in connection with Williams’ death.
Officers say the suspects were taken into custody just before 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Dekhise Dorsey, 17, faces charges of second-degree murder, assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. He is in the Audrain County Jail.
Two 15-year-old juveniles face similar charges. They were taken to detention centers by the 12th Circuit Court Juvenile Division.
UPDATE 9:25 a.m.: The Mexico Department of Public Safety has named Tajuan Williams as the man who died in a shooting on Friday.
Authorities said the three teenaged suspects have not yet been found.
All three teenagers are wards of the state, according to authorities. Two are 15 years old and the other is 17 years old.
The Division of Youth Services has issued DYS warrants tor detention for all three.
ORIGINAL: The Mexico Department of Public Safety is investigating after a 27-year-old man was shot and killed.
According to a news release, officers responded to the 500 block of Muldrow Street around 5:30 p.m. in reference to a person who had been shot.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a 27-year-old man who had been involved in an altercation and shot one time, the release said.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Authorities are searching for three teenagers who are believed to have been involved in the shooting.
