Barry Odom speaks out against NCAA punishment against MU

Mizzou football coach Barry Odom will speak with media members at 2 p.m. Friday to discuss the penalties handed down against the university from the NCAA.

The NCAA enforced a football postseason ban as well other sanctions against MU for an academic fraud case involving a tutor during the 2015-16 season. The tutor completed classwork for 12 student athletes in order to help keep them eligible athletically.

MU softball coach Larissa Anerson said on Twitter that she’s ready to “fight for her team.”

MU baseball coach Steve Bieser said he is willing to help in the appeals process in a statement on Twitter.
