Fulton man has 12 charges in home burglary case

A Fulton man had 12 charges in Callaway County Wednesday after he was accused of breaking into his former home, pouring gasoline in the home and on a family dog and assaulting his girfriend of 20 years.

Fulton police responded to the home on Vine Street Sunday in reference to a domestic disturbance. The victim stated Robert Pittman Jr. broke into the home after the victim had previously kicked him out and had the locks changed. Pittman allegedly walked in with gas cans, court documents said, and poured them in the living room, kitchen area and on the family dog. There were children in the home at the time of the incident.

Pittman then allegedly repeatedly hit and kicked the victim, knocking her to the ground. The victim later went to the Fulton Medical Center where she was treated for multiple large hematomas and a cut lip as well as other scrapes.

Pittman was charged with first-degree burglary, three counts of first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, two counts of tampering with a victim, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree attempted arson, animal abuse and fourth-degree domestic assault.
