Police say no new information in north Columbia killing

Police say they have no new information to release as they continue to investigate a Saturday homicide in north Columbia.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday officers were sent to the 3800 block of Rangeline Street for a one-vehicle crash. When they arrived, officers found a vehicle with extensive damage and two people inside. Both were transported to the hospital, one with a gunshot wound.

At the hospital, medical personnel pronounced 25-year-old Dominick Roland dead of a gunshot wound.

Ten minutes before the crash, officers were dispatched to a suspicious incident less than a mile from the crash. Police have not said if the two incidents were related.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case and no suspect information has been released.

This is the third homicide in Columbia, and Boone County combined in 2019.
