Revolving door of upper level disturbances keeps light snow chances in the forecast
SATURDAY: Our next round of light snow will be moving into the area this morning as another quick moving disturbance slides through Mid-Missouri. Up to an inch is possible along and north of I-70, but most of us will only get a dusting. South of I-70 could see some flakes this morning, but it won’t amount to much. Temperatures will range from the upper 20s near Macon to the low to mid 30s further south with places like Lake of the Ozarks getting up near 40.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy skies stick around, keeping our temperatures from getting as cold as we’ve seen in recent nights. Places will more snow on the ground in our northern counties will drop to the middle teens, with the rest of Mid-Missouri bottoming out in the mid to upper 20s.
EXTENDED: We’ll be tracking another quick moving system Sunday morning, with much of the same expected out of this system. Temperatures Sunday afternoon will warm into the middle 30s north of I-70 and further south getting up to the middle 40s, despite mostly cloudy skies. As our final, and more potent, system moves in temperatures will be warm enough to support all rain initially Sunday night before changing over to a wintry mix and moving out by Monday afternoon. We could be seeing impacts to the Monday morning commute, so this system will have to be watched going forward. Temperatures will top out in the low to mid 30s Monday before falling throughout the afternoon behind the return of blustery conditions. Those breezy conditions look to stick around Tuesday and Wednesday, keeping the wind chills in the single digits in the afternoon and overnight lows approaching zero.
