Mid-Missouri Business Week: MU extension dives deeper into communities with new staffing plan

The University of Missouri Extension is implementing a new staffing plan this year.

The plan will establish county engagement specialists in each county of Missouri to focus on the economy, health and youth development and education.

Marshall Stewart, the vice chancellor of MU Extension and Engagement, said there will also be regional specialists to work in more traditional areas such as agriculture, agronomy and livestock.

“What we’ve tried to do is figure out how to maintain a high sense of touch with our communities and also bring them high-tech options,” Stewart said.
