Warming this weekend, slight snow chances
TONIGHT: Some snow showers are possible in the evening, but a dry night is expected with mostly cloudy skies. Temperatures will drop back into the teens to low 20s through the morning.
SATURDAY: Another fast moving upper wave will bring a chance of light snow Saturday morning with the best chance in northeast parts of Mid-Missouri. A dusting of snow is possible with up to an inch in northeastern Missouri. Temperatures will reach the upper 20s north of I-70 to near 40 at the Lake of the Ozarks with northeast winds shifting to the west up to10 mph.
EXTENDED: The warming continues into Sunday with highs reaching the low 30s north of I-70 to the low 40s in the Ozarks under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Yet another fast moving upper wave will bring a slight chance of rain/ snow mix but most areas will remain dry. Temperatures will warm into the upper 30s Monday with a chance of rain early in the day which will briefly change to snow as colder air arrives. Arctic air returns starting Monday afternoon with gusty winds and falling temperatures into the single digits Monday night. Bitterly cold air settles in from Monday night through next Thursday with daytime highs only in the teens and nights in the single digits along with subzero wind chills.
