A man was charged after police said he stole dozens of printer ink cartridges from a Jefferson city store.

Kaeleb Smith, of Columbia, is accused of stealing around 45 ink cartridges from Target around 12:45 p.m. Monday.

According to court documents, Smith used a plastic storage tote in a shopping cart to hide the items before went out a fire exit door.

Police said Smith left the store and got into a vehicle that was waiting for him outside the emergency exit.

The stolen cartridges had an estimated value of around $1,800.
