Moberly police continue to investigate school threat

The Moberly Police Department continued to investigate threats at Moberly Middle School on Tuesday. According to police Chief Troy Link, officers conducted interviews regarding the threats all weekend and were unable to find any criminal activity.

A Moberly Middle School parent sent ABC 17 News letters the Moberly Public School Distrct sent to parents regarding the threat. In the letter, the school addressed a threat that was made on Friday by a former Moberly Middle School student.

The student allegedly made the threat through an online videogame chat, according to the letter. Students then reported it to school authorities. The school did not consider the threat to be credible, the letter said.

Link said the police department was investigating the threat in relation to violence at the school. However, no criminal activity was detected.

ABC 17 News reached out to the Moberly Public School District but has not heard back.
