Another cold and breezy day in store for Mid-Missouri
MONDAY: It looks like cloud cover will be winning out for the most part today. Partly sunny skies will hold temperatures from getting back to the freezing mark in many locations. Winds out of the southeast gusting to 30 mph will attempt to warm us up, but will ultimately keep wind chills in the teens to low 20s throughout the day.
TONIGHT: The combination of overnight clouds and winds out of the southeast, temperatures will actually increase by a few degrees, getting into the upper 30s near daybreak on Tuesday. This is all in response to our next storm system moving through Mid-Missouri, but precipitation looks to hold off until the later morning hours.
EXTENDED: Rain moves in early Tuesday, but with temperatures making it into the low to mid 40s, it looks like just a chilly rain for the area. We could see a brief changeover to snow Tuesday evening as a cold front works through the region, but by then, the bulk of the moisture will be moving out. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds Wednesday as temperatures fight to make it back to freezing in the afternoon. A cold front swings through on Thursday, giving us another chance at picking up more snow in Mid-Missouri and pushing temperatures back into the single digits overnight. Before we have a chance to warm up, we’ll be seeing yet another shot of cold air toward next weekend, bringing Arctic air with it. Stick with ABC 17 on-air and online for the newest information.
