Bitterly cold air sets into Mid-Missouri
TONIGHT: Winds will steadily die down through the evening hours across Mid-Missouri… under mostly clear skies this will help temperatures drop throughout the evening hours. Lows will likely bottom out in the mid to upper single digits as we’re waking up Sunday. With a light NW breeze, it will feel like it’s below zero as you head out the door.
SUNDAY: After a bitterly cold start to the day, we’re talking a heavy coat kind of morning, we’ll see temperatures slowly climb through the teens and lower 20s. This will be accompanied by sunshine through the early afternoon with clouds building by 3pm. This may inhibit the view of the Super Blood Moon Sunday night, so stay posted. Temperatures top out in the low 20s, under a light north breeze.
EXTENDED: We’ll see partly cloudy skies throughout the day Monday as a warm front lifts north across the area. This will be ahead out our next storm system which will bring the chance of a wintry mix, rain and light snow to the area. Impacts look very limited with this system, and much of the storm looks to end up as mostly rain with temperatures in the 40s Tuesday afternoon. Cold air returns for Wednesday with highs struggling to get back to the freezing mark, and it looks like we’ll stay cold through the weekend.
