Car goes up in flames on Highway 63

A vehicle was considered a total loss on Friday morning after it caught fire on Highway 63.

Southern Boone Fire Protection District responded to the call of a stalled vehicle around 8 a.m. near Ashland on Highway 63. When first responders arrived, the vehicle was in flames. The fire started in the engine compartment, fire officials said.

There was an ambulance on scene for a short amount of time, but no one was seriously hurt in the incident.

The vehicle was being pulled off of the road at 8:45 a.m. Traffic is no longer blocked.
