With roads clear, Cole County crews prepare for massive melt

Cole County Public Works director Larry Benz said his crews cleared the last of the county roads of snow and ice Sunday night.
Monday, the department shifted its focus to clearing the inlets and drainage infrastructure to allow for the massive amounts of snow to melt into the creeks and streams without obstruction.
“We don’t want there to be mini lakes and ponds everywhere,” Benz said.
