Columbia man charged after attempted carjacking
Boone County prosecutors have filed charged against a man accused of trying to steal a car at knifepoint.
Fernando T. Cartagena, 25, of Columbia, was arrested Thursday in the 5000 block of Clark Lane.
Police said the victim told officers he took Cartagena to The Links after Cartagena asked for a ride to the area.
No one was hurt in the attempted carjacking.
According to court documents, Cartagena also had more than a gram of methamphetamine in his possession.
Cartagena is charged in Boone County with first-degree robbery, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon.
