Traffic stop in Moniteau County ends in drug arrest

Prosecutors have filed charges against a man after a traffic stop in Moniteau County ended in a drug bust.

Deputies arrested Cody Edgar, 20, of Sedalia, on Tuesday in Tipton after he was pulled over for not having a front license plate on his car.

According to the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office, a Tipton Police Department dog gave a positive alert for drugs after Edgar declined a search of the vehicle.

Deputies said meth and drug paraphernalia were found inside the car. Edgar was taken to the Moniteau County jail with a bond set at $25,000.

Prosecutors have charged Edgar with one felony count of possession of a controlled substance.
