Police investigating after teenager shot

Police are investigating after a gunshot victim was found in the parking lot of a convenience store in north Columbia.

Police confirmed officers responded to Bodie Drive and Edenton Boulevard at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday for reports of shots fired. Police said evidence was located at the scene.

Shortly after, officers responded to the Break Time on Smiley Lane after a 16-year-old was found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound, police said.

Authorities said the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Police said they are investigating both incidents to determine if they are connected.
