Warm day to close out the final weekend of 2018

SUNDAY: Even with a frosty start to the morning, we’ll see the return of some more mild conditions this afternoon. With plenty of sunshine and winds out of the southwest, we’ll warm back up into the mid to upper 40s. Those winds responsible for the warm up will also be moving in moisture from the south.

TONIGHT: Clouds will be increasing as we head through the evening with this increasing moisture. Some of our southern counties could see a stray shower or two this evening, but the main round looks to hold off until after midnight. With temperatures only falling into the middle 30s, this will be just a cold rain event, with all of us picking up at least half an inch of rainfall, and more than an inch toward the southeast.

EXTENDED: That rain will linger into Monday morning, making for a damp start to New Year’s Eve before winding down in the afternoon. With cloud cover and lingering rain, temperatures will struggle to warm much, only reaching the low 40s Monday. But that will feel warm compared to Tuesday, with temperatures in the middle 20s accompanied by a cold breeze out of the northwest and mostly cloudy skies. Sunshine returns Wednesday, but temperatures will be slow to respond, only warming into the low 30s but that warming trend will continue throughout the week, making it back to near 50 by Friday.
