Man faces possible charges after alleged rape on Mizzou campus

University of Missouri police arrested a Columbia man for charges of rape and sodomy early Saturday morning, according to a police spokesperson.

MU police arrested Mujahid Ahmed, 27, for one count of first-degree rape and one count of first-degree sodomy.

Police said the sexual assault took place between midnight and 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in a residence hall on campus.

The victim was an acquaintance with Ahmed, however the spokesperson said he is not a student at the university.

Police said it is an ongoing investigation and no more information will be released.
