Crash shuts down part of Forum Boulevard

UPDATE: Columbia police confirmed the driver of the car was going north on Forum Boulevard and was in the left turn lane at Scottson Way when she was rear-ended by the truck.

She was pushed into the southbound lane of Forum, and into the path of a Columbia police vehicle.

Columbia police said the person driving the truck received a traffic citation for colliding with a motor vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

ORIGINAL STORY: Investigators are working a three-car crash on Forum Boulevard between Green Meadows Road and Nifong Boulevard.

According to Columbia police, a pick-up truck rear ended a car, which crossed lanes and hit a Columbia Police Department vehicle.

There was one person in each car, and two of them had to go to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the truck was not transported. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital by a private vehicle, and the officer went to the hospital in an ambulance.

No word yet on what caused the crash.

Forum between Green Meadows and Nifong is blocked off during the investigation.
