Wound life-threatening in central Columbia shooting
UPDATE: Police confirm the victim is a 30-year-old man.
ORIGINAL: The Columbia Police Department was investigating a shooting in central Columbia on Wednesday afternoon.
One person was shot in the incident in the 100 block of West Worley Street at about 3 p.m. An ambulance was seen taking a person to the hospital to be treated for injuries. Police were called out to the area for shots heard and found shell casings when they arrived.
The Columbia Police Department said later in a news release that one person suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound.
ABC 17 News crews on scene saw crime tape being put up and an ambulance on its way to the hospital.

Police shut down Worley Street at Oak Street.
