One juvenile suspect in custody after making terrorist threats

One juvenile suspect is in custody after allegedly making a terroristic threat toward New Bloomfield High School.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office received a tip claiming the suspect had made verbal threats of violence toward the school. Sheriff’s deputies responded Thursday afternoon in order to help the school resource officer with the investigation.

After interviewing high school students and staff, deputies detained one juvenile, who was later transferred to Callaway County juvenile authorities.

The news release did not include any information about the suspect or the alleged threat, and calls to the district were not immediately returned.

The investigation is ongoing.
