Rain moves in Thursday

TONIGHT: Clouds will increase again tonight ahead of increasing rain chances into Thursday. A few spotty showers can’t be ruled out late tonight, but the better chance of rain comes Friday. Temperatures will remain above freezing through the night with a low of 36 degrees as winds shift out of the southeast up to 8 mph.

THURSDAY: Spotty morning showers will become widespread rain as we head through afternoon. With the heaviest axis of rain looking to be near I-44, you’ll want to watch out for flooding in flood prone areas, especially Thursday night into Friday morning. While the threat is minimal, it does exist as areas closer to I-44 are expected to get an inch to inch and a half of rainfall through Friday morning. The amounts will drop off to the northwest with only up to a half inch.

EXTENDED: Rain showers will end Friday morning in most areas but closer to I-44, light rain could linger into the afternoon. Northerly winds will usher in drier air through the day Friday with high temperatures staying in the lower 40s, dipping to near 30 Friday night as skies gradually clear. We dry out as we head into the weekend, with afternoon highs near 50 under plenty of sunshine both Saturday and Sunday.
