Two teens in custody after home burglary

Two 15-year-old boys were taken into custody on Monday after the Mexico Public Safety Department responded to a burglary in the 600 block of N. Western Street.

The residents of the home told police they had been gone for about two and a half hours on Monday morning, and when they returned, they found someone had entered the home and taken some items, MPSD said in a press release on Tuesday.

Officers were able to identify the suspects through video footage from security cameras. The suspects were taken into custody on Monday afternoon.
