Jefferson City Fire Department holds dedication ceremony for new fleet

The Jefferson City Fire Department held a dedication ceremony Tuesday afternoon for its new fleet.

The event was open to the public and is started at 4:30 p.m. at the Miller Performing Arts Center.

Around 50 people were in attendance, including city council members, the Jefferson City Police Department, the Lincoln University Police Department and the Cole County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the department, the first truck of the new fleet went into service in late October.

The department showed off one of its new ladder trucks at the 79th Annual Jefferson City Jaycees Christmas Parade earlier this month.
