More than 100 bills pre-filed in state Senate for 2019 legislation session

Missouri lawmakers are able to pre-file bills for the 100th General Assembly as of Monday.

Pre-filing usually begins Dec. 1, but because that fell on Saturday, state senators were able to start pre-filing on Friday and representatives on Monday.

Senators pre-filed 163 bills before Monday.

The bill language isn’t available, but the bill list states what the legislation is related to.

Six Senate bills are related to gun legislation, at least four are related to health care and at least six are related to education.

During the first week of early filing last year, senators pre-filed 245 bills.
