Columbia Fire Department trains to deal with infectious diseases

Members of the Columbia Fire Department participated in a training Monday on how to handle infections diseases.

According to the department, the training covered a review of procedures related to potential Ebola incidents, putting on and taking off hazardous material personal protective equipment and reviewing the department’s response procedures for suspected Anthrax.

Officials said the training is required, quarterly training for all department members.
