Sparks from a vehicle ignite fire in Fulton home

The Fulton Fire Department said a homeowner was working on a vehicle in their garage when sparks ignited the vehicle, causing a fire Sunday evening on 607 State Road Z in Fulton.

When firefighters arrived, Fire Chief Kevin Coffelt said they saw heavy smoke and flames showing from the garage of the two-story home.

All the occupants of the home had gotten out of the home before firefighters arrived. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters got the fire under control in about 20 minutes. The estimated damages are around $35,000.
