Silver Advisory Alert canceled for missing Camden County man

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol canceled the Silver Advisory Alert for Peffer. He was found safe in Jackson County.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Camden County Sheriff Department is looking for a 82-year-old man who went missing from 51 Wren Court in Camdenton around 6:00 p.m. Saturday.

Authorities say John M. Peffer was last seen in a White 2003 Lincoln Town Car but it’s not known which direction he was driving in.

He is with his dog, a standard Schnauzer. He told family he had bought a house in Sibley, Mo. two weeks ago but his family says this isn’t true although he may still be traveling to the Sibley area.

He is without required medication for dementia and type 2 diabetes.

Anyone with information on Peffer should call 911 to contact the nearest law enforcement agency, or contact the Camden County Sheriff Department at 573-346-2243.
