Clouds slowly clearing from west to east… Bitter winter chill through the next 48 hours

THIS AFTERNOON: We’re continuing to track clouds clearing out of Mid-Missouri with the western half of the viewing area under full sunshine, with our eastern counties seeing cloudy skies and flurries. This will slowly work eastbound… but it will be cold across the board today. Temperatures struggle to make it into the mid 20s and with winds out of the NW at 10-15 mph, it will feel like the low to mid 10s all day. Bundle up!

TONIGHT: Clear skies tonight in combination with snowfall will help drop temperatures into the teens through the night. Northwesterly winds from 6-8 mph drops the wind chill in the single digits for the morning commute. Make sure you bundle up and cover exposed skin!

EXTENDED: We’re tracking a slow warming trend this week, with temperatures back to the 40s by Wednesday. Sunshine dominates the forecast through Tuesday as high pressure moves overhead, with increasing clouds by Wednesday. Temperatures will continue to climb through the end of the week with southerly flow returning as high pressure moves to the east. An upper level wave could spark some light rain showers on Thursday. More widespread rain looks possible into the weekend on Saturday, also bringing the possibility for our next rain and snow mix.
