Robberies rising this holiday season in Columbia

The Columbia Police Department has received 12 reports of robberies in November, according to the CPD dispatch log.

Authorities are still looking for suspects in connection to two separate robberies on Tuesday.

The Columbia Police Department responded to a robbery at Missouri Credit Union in the 100 block of E. Broadway Tuesday.

CPD spokesperson Jeff Pitts said the suspect entered MCU and demanded money from the tellers, he took an undisclosed amount of money and fled in a silver car.

Authorities are also still searching for a suspect in a robbery related to a Facebook marketplace exchange.

The seller met the buyer in the parking lot of Lazer Lanes on Grindstone Parkway to sell a PlayStation 4, the buyer displayed a weapon and stole the item without paying the seller.

In November 2017, Columbia had six robberies, and there were eight in 2016 compared to the 14 the city has had so far this month.
