Police searching for woman accused of stealing PlayStation

The Columbia Police Department is looking for a woman accused of stealing a PlayStation 4 from someone who was selling the item on Facebook marketplace.

It happened Tuesday night in the parking lot of Lazer Lanes on Grindstone Parkway.

“The victim arranged to sell a Playstation 4 that was listed on Facebook Marketplace for $200,” CPD spokesman Jeff Pitts said in a press release. “When the victim arrived, the suspect that wanted to purchase the item displayed a weapon and took the item without giving money to the seller.”

CPD said people are welcome to use the station at Sixth and Walnut as a meeting place for selling items. The lobby area is well lit and staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact CPD at 573-874-7652 or Crimestoppers at 573-875-8477 to remain anonymous.

The robber was driving a gray GMC Envoy.
