Ugly end to the weekend, with a warm-up on the way

SUNDAY: We’re getting reports of drizzle this morning so we’ll have to keep an eye on the freezing line throughout the morning. Be sure to give yourself extra time this morning if you plan to be on the roadways, as we could see some slick spots develop on bridges and overpasses, but most area roads will be in good shape. As we continue to warm up, we’ll be left with wet roadways by midday. Temperatures will slowly make their way toward 40 degrees this afternoon, fighting stubborn cloud cover and winds out of the north up to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: We’ll hang on to mostly cloudy skies tonight. Winds will calm overnight as high pressure settles in and temperatures look to bottom out in the upper 20s, leaving us with a chilly start to the work week.

EXTENDED: Cooler weather sticks around for the abbreviated work week for many of us. Sunshine starts to make its return to Mid-Missouri on Monday as clouds begin to clear out in the morning. Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 40s Monday. A cold front swings through Tuesday afternoon, but only looks to set our temperatures back into the low 40s with no rain expected. Then we start to tap into more mild weather just in time for the holiday. Temperatures Wednesday and Thursday look to top out mid to upper 50s with plenty of sunshine. Shoppers might want to grab the umbrella, as our next chance of rain coming on Black Friday. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest on our changing weather and check back here for updates.
