Three men arrested in connection with string of thefts
Three men were arrested in connection with a series of thefts from storage units across Callaway County.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office said it along with the Fulton Police Department and Holts Summit Police Department have investigated multiple thefts from units in and near Auxvasse, Fulton, New Bloomfield and Holts Summit.
The thefts took place between July 1 and Nov. 14, according to a news release.
Authorities said the most recent theft was investigated by the Holts Summit Police Department on Wednesday. Officers attempted to arrest Chase Shaver, 20, at a New Bloomfield businesses, but Shaver fled the area, the news release said.
During the investigation, authorities also identified Lance Kemp, 38, and Morgan Patton, 38, as suspects.
Fulton police arrested Morgan and Kemp at 5:43 p.m. on Wednesday. Later that night, deputies spotted Shaver in New Bloomfield and arrested him without incident, according to authorities.
The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office said investigators executed two search warrants in the county and recovered a large amount of stolen property.
Authorities said they encourage citizens to check their storage units in Callaway County and report any missing items to law enforcement.
On Nov. 27, authorities will be available for a public viewing of the recovered property at the Fulton Police Department. The Sheriff’s Office said only people who have made a related theft report will be able to view the property.
