Phelps County crash kills 4, injures 4 near Rolla

The 30th, 31st, 32nd and 33rd crash fatalities seen by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Troop I in 2018 occurred Sunday morning on Highway O, about four miles south of Rolla.

According to the MSHP crash report, the deadly crash happened at approximately 9:12 a.m. when a vehicle driven southbound by 22-year-old Alonzo Moore crossed into the path of another vehicle.

Moore and three passengers, Logan Barton, 27, Zachary Barton, 26, and Andrew Theiss, 25, were all pronounced dead a little before 10 a.m.

The crash report said the four men were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The other vehicle was being driven by 42-year-old Andrew Kehans, who suffered moderate injuries, and carrying three other passengers. Lainie Kehans, 43, was seriously injured in the crash and two children with the same last name received minor injuries.

The crash report said all the people in the vehicle driven by Kehans were wearing seat belts and were transported to the Phelps County Regional Medical Center.

Before this crash, Troop I had only seen one crash fatality in the month of November
