Boone County shooting victim in serious condition
The man shot in the chest on Saturday is in serious condition.
The woman accused of shooting her significant other at a residence east of Columbia has been charged with three felonies.
Tiffany Fountain, 36, is accused of shooting a man in the chest on the 800 block of Wester Lane. Authorities found the man sitting wounded in his truck, the Boone County Sheriff’s Department said. Neighbors reported hearing a loud argument before hearing a gunshot.
The man identified his shooter for an investigator before being rushed to University Hospital, according to a probable cause statement. Fountain had an “elevated blood alcohol content,” the statement said.
Fountain was charged with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon for using a gun while intoxicated. She was in the Boone County Jail on Monday on a $75,000 cash-only bond. An initial court appearance had not been set Monday morning.
