Holts Summit man killed in Callaway County crash

A Holts Summit man died in a crash Thursday after his car slid on a snow-covered road in Callaway County.

Jason S. Mayer, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2014 Chevrolet Malibu lost control on Highway 94 east of Route C, crossed the center line and crashed into a 2014 Ford Explorer traveling the opposite way at about 6:50 a.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a crash report. The report said the Explorer hit the right side of Mayer’s car.

Two people in the Explorer suffered minor injuries and were taken by private vehicle to St. Mary’s in Jefferson City.
