Deadly crash victims’ names released

The Missouri State Highway Patrol released the names of the four people who died Wednesday in a crash on Interstate 70 at mile marker 133 east of Columbia.

Otto Kramer III, 63, of Pickerington ,Ohio; Vicky Moore, 60, of Auxvasse, Missouri; Cindy Spradlin, 63, of Auxvasse; and Jennifer Temple, 44, of Columbia were killed in the crash, and the next of kin have been notified, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

Kramer was the driver of the tractor-trailer that began the chain reaction by hitting a Buick LeSabre carrying Spradlin and Moore. Kramer’s truck also rear-ended the Ford Taurus carrying Temple.

Two of the six vehicles involved in the crash were driven from the scene and their occupants were not injured.

Moore and Temple were pronounced dead at the scene. Kramer and Spradlin died at the hospital.

According to the crash report, a tractor-trailer rear ended a stopped vehicle on the interstate a little after noon Wednesday, which caused a pile up with five other vehicles, including two other tractor trailers.

Officials said Wednesday the crash happened after traffic stopped because of a fire on a tractor-trailer hauling vehicles at the 131 mile marker.

The crash shut down I-70 westbound for several hours at the Route Z exit in Boone County. Traffic was diverted around the crash scene on Route Z while first responders worked at the scene.
