Brief warming trend into Friday; Wintry mix possible this weekend
***Winter Weather Advisory for Gasconade, Montgomery, Maries, Osage, Phelps and Pulaski counties until 6 PM this evening ***
THURSDAY: Afternoon highs will vary greatly this afternoon, thanks to snow that fell through the morning hours. West of Hwy 63, temperatures are expected to climb into the lower 40s under sunny skies, with areas east of hwy 63 staying in the mid to upper 30s through the day. Any remaining snow and clouds will track to the east by early afternoon, as the below seasonal weather continues.
TONIGHT: Skies remain clear tonight as temperatures drop back below freezing by morning. With winds out of the west up to 8 mph wind chill values will be in the low 20s as you head out the door early Friday.
EXTENDED: Friday looks to be the nicest day of the week thus far, as we approach 50 degrees in the afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Clouds will return Saturday with highs in the mid 40s. We are watching for possible light snow Saturday night which could produce minor accumulation into Sunday morning, possibly changing to rain and ending in the afternoon. The system will have very little moisture to work with, so if we see anything it will amount to brief light snow showers that could bring a dusting. Highs will be colder Sunday, only reaching the low to mid 30s. Next week looks warmer as we climb into the 40s to lower 50s for highs with mainly dry weather through Wednesday. Rain chances return by the end of the Thanksgiving week and into the weekend. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest on our changing weather and check back here for updates.
