Snow Wednesday night- AM Thursday in parts of Mid-Missouri
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon for Gasconade, Montgomery, Osage, Maries, Phelps and Pulaski counties for light to moderate snow and possible accumulation up to 3 inches. This could lead to slippery roads for the Thursday morning commute and slow travel.
Light snow will develop near I-44 late Wednesday afternoon and increase overnight, continuing through Thursday morning. The back edge of this moisture could bring light snow or flurries as far east as HWY 63 where a dusting is possible but most accumulation will be east-southeast in the advised area. Snowfall amounts will increase toward St. Louis and far eastern Missouri where up to 8 inches is possible and a Winter Storm Warning is in effect. Travel to the St. Louis area and south to Cape Girardeau is not advised Wednesday night through Thursday morning as roads will be slippery.
Temperatures will be below freezing, dropping into the 20s Wednesday night through Thursday morning but will climb above freezing close to noon causing snow to gradually change to rain and end.
