Another bitterly cold night, watching snow chance southeast Thursday

TONIGHT: Another night of bitterly cold temperatures is expected, with lows bottoming out near 15 degrees. With clear skies, we could even see some spots dip into the lower teens tonight. It could potentially be one of the coldest nights we’ve seen this season. Thankfully with fairly calm winds, wind chills will only be a degree or two colder into the night.

WEDNESDAY: Sunshine will once again be abundant but temperatures will still feel like January as we only reach into the upper 30s. Fortunately, winds will be light, coming in from the east up to 5 mph.

EXTENDED: We are watching a southern storm system which will lift moisture northward Wednesday night into Thursday, producing light snow to a wintry mix as far north as the I-44 corridor. It’s possible that some light snow could fall as far north as I-70 Wednesday night but most likely, it will be confined to areas farther southeast. Anywhere from a dusting to a couple inches of snow is possible through Thursday morning for Phelps, Pulaski, Maries, Osage and Gasconade counties. Temperatures will rise Thursday but only reaching the lower 40s at best which is still chilly for mid-November. Friday looks to be the nicest day of the week, as we squeeze out some 50s across the region, before another shot of cold air knocks us back into the 30s by Sunday. We are watching for possible light snow Saturday night which could produce minor accumulation into Sunday morning.
