Feeling more like January, but for how long?
TONIGHT: Skies clear out for tonight bringing bitterly cold temperatures to the area. By Saturday morning lows will be in the teens, which could break the record low of 18 from 1926 in Columbia. With winds out of the northwest up to 8 mph, wind chill drops into the single digits early Saturday morning.
SATURDAY: After the coldest morning of the season, highs rise into the upper 30s, with wind chill values staying in the 20s in the afternoon with a south breeze up to 9 mph. Well have sunshine all day long, but it won’t help out much.
EXTENDED: Some clouds will move in Sunday and it looks warmer, with highs in the mid 40s. We are keeping an eye on the potential for snow Sunday night into Monday, but until there is more agreement on forecast models, confidence is low. Another surge of cold air moves in Monday, dropping our high temperatures back into the upper 30s Monday and only in the lower 30s Tuesday. We’ll start to warm up next week with high temperatures near 50 by Thursday as we stay dry. Watch ABC 17 News for the latest on our changing weather and check back here for updates.
