Rain for some Halloween night, cool through the weekend

TONIGHT: Rain will begin to lift into Mid-Missouri from the southwest after 6 PM with showers making it north to near I-70 by 10 PM. Some trick-or-treaters will run into some rain south of I-70, with a better chance as you near I-44. It won’t be a washout, but you’ll want to be prepared for rain if you live south of I-70. Evening temperatures will stay in the lower 50s, dropping into the mid 40s by morning with winds out of the northeast up to 11 mph.

THURSDAY: The rain will decrease in the morning with some showers lingering near I-44 through the afternoon. Areas farther north will have mostly cloudy skies and stay dry. It will stay cool with highs in the mid to upper 50s and light winds from the north.

EXTENDED: Skies will become partly cloudy Thursday night with lows dipping into the upper 30s. Another cold front will drop south Friday, bringing another chance of rain and keeping us in the low 50s Friday afternoon. Showers will end by Friday evening and lows will drop into the mid 30s overnight. The active weather pattern sticks around as we head into the weekend with rain possible north of I-70 Saturday. Sunday brings a better chance for rain as another cold front tracks though, as we start off the week on a cloudy and damp note. The unsettled pattern continues through next Tuesday with rain chances continuing. Rainfall accumulations the next seven days could top out near two inches for parts of Mid-Missouri, which will effectively end our drought for all of us if we see that much rain.
