Showers move in Tuesday followed by cooler air

TONIGHT: Temperatures will remain mild overnight as clouds build into our area. By morning, lows will drop into the mid 50s with winds out of the south up to 12 mph.

TUESDAY: The day will start off dry but we’ll have increasing rain chances as a cold front moves through. It will still be mild with highs in the upper 60s. In the first half of the day, the better chance of rain will be northwest of HWY 54 with spotty showers and isolated t-storms becoming more scattered by afternoon and pushing southeast through the evening. Rainfall amounts are expected to come in from a quarter to half inch with some areas picking up three quarters of an inch of rain mainly east of HWY 63.

EXTENDED: Showers will linger near the I-44 corridor through early Wednesday morning and end as cooler, drier air moves in. High temperatures will stay in the mid 50s for Halloween under mostly cloudy skies and a north breeze up to 10 mph. It looks cool and mainly dry for trick-or-treaters with temperatures dropping to near 50 by 8 PM. Showers are possible Wednesday night into Thursday morning, mainly closer to I-44 as an upper level wave tracks through southern Missouri. Farther north, it will stay dry with increasing sunshine Thursday and highs in the 50s. Another cold front will drop south Friday, bringing another chance of rain and keeping us in the upper 40s to low 50s Friday afternoon, dropping into the low 30s Friday night. After a brief break from the rain Saturday, more showers are possible Sunday. It will stay cool all weekend with highs in the low to mid 50s and nights in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
