Beautiful weather today, with rain to arrive before Halloween

MONDAY: Although we start off cool, the retreating high pressure along with a return of southerly winds, Mid-MO will warm up quick through the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the upper 60s and low 70s. Winds will be steady between 6-12 mph.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will remain mild overnight as clouds build into our area. By morning, lows will have only dropped into the mid 50s with winds out of the south up to 10 mph.

EXTENDED: Beyond Monday, things become unsettled. We’re continuing to track a cold front arriving by Tuesday afternoon. After a dry start to the morning, showers will increase after 11 AM, with some rumbles of thunder. Showers and t-storms will slowly push the the southeast through the day and continue even into the evening. Rain totals look to be split along the HWY 63 corridor with half an inch less to the west, and amounts over half an inch east. Luckily, we dry out into Wednesday morning, but some sprinkles could still be around Wednesday evening for the trick or treaters. Temperatures will be in the low 50s by Halloween evening. Thursday is dry, but by Friday another quick moving system bring a shot at rain with a big cool down for the weekend. Tune in to ABC 17 News on-air and online for the latest forecast updates.
