Car crashes on I-70 near Missouri River snarl traffic

UPDATE: At least three vehicles, including a taxi, were involved in two separate crashes on Interstate 70.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the taxi rear-ended another vehicle. A separate vehicle then crashed into the taxi.

Taxi Terry said the driver of the taxi was en route to Boonville to pick up seven people. The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

ABC 17 News crews at the scene saw a trooper questioning the driver of one of the other vehicles.

As of 2:30 a.m., I-70 was open to traffic.

ORIGINAL: Emergency crews are responding to a car crash on westbound Interstate 70 early Saturday morning.

The Boone County Joint Communications office warned of the crashes near the 116 mile marker between Routes J and BB. The alert told drivers to avoid the area, if possible.
