Four defendants in DeBrodie civil lawsuit dismissed

Four defendants in a civil lawsuit connected to the death of Carl DeBrodie were dismissed from the lawsuit on Monday.

According to documents filed in federal court, a judge dismissed Julia Kaufmann, Tiffany Keipp, Robin Rees-Love and Karen Digh Allen from the case.

Kaufmann and Keip were working for Callaway County Special Services at the time of DeBrodie’s death, and Rees-Love and Allen were working for the Callaway County Public Administrator’s Office.

For several months leading up to DeBrodie’s reported disappearance, Allen, Love, Keipp and other named in the lawsuit prevented the plaintiffs in the case, Carolyn Summers and Carol Samson, from seeing or visiting with DeBrodie.

Keipp allegedly made false reports saying that face-to-face contact was made with DeBrodie. Keipp and Rees-Love also allegedly did not make contact with DeBrodie to check on his health and well-being, even though it was reported he was not in good health.
