Unseasonably cool temperatures to return following series of cold fronts
MONDAY: This afternoon is shaping up to be the nicest one of the week, as afternoon highs will top out in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Warming winds out of the southwest and a building ridge, albeit short-lived, are a big contributor the pleasant afternoon. Expect plenty of sunshine with winds gradually shifting out of the west and eventually the north as we head into the early evening hours.
TONIGHT: Temperatures tonight drop back to the low 40s under clear skies. Winds will continue to shift out of the north, as a weak cold front tracks through the region. It’ll be a dry frontal passage, with little to any clouds expected as it tracks through.
EXTENDED: We’re tracking a series of cold fronts through the week that will kick temperatures back below average by Tuesday. With high pressure overhead skies remain clear through Tuesday and Wednesday with highs close to 60. Lows Tuesday will be dropping into the mid 30s with another potential for patchy frost. This week holds a lot of dry time, but as we head into the weekend small rain chances return. Weekend precipitation potential is in association with a weak upper level wave, which will begin to interact with the remnants of what is now Hurricane Willa. Rain will increase Friday night into Saturday as a weak cold front moves through the area, but we will dry out through Saturday afternoon. Showers will be very light in nature, only bringing us .25″ through the next 7 days. Keep up to date with the latest forecast on-air and online with ABC 17 News
