Sedalia man killed after crash in Cole County

UPDATE: The driver of the car, 21-year-old Kin Darius Patterson, is facing involuntary manslaughter and other charges after the crash.

ORIGINAL STORY: Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed that one man is dead after a crash Saturday afternoon.

According to highway patrol crash reports online, 49-year-old Michael Poindexter from Sedalia was killed on Highway 50 near Lookout Trail around 6:30 p.m.

Troopers said a car attempted to cross the highway and pulled into the path of Poindexter’s motorcycle. The motorcycle crashed into the car, ejecting Poindexter.

When authorities arrived on scene, he was pronounced dead.
