Spotty showers on the way out

THIS AFTERNOON: Showers are beginning to taper off and will continue to do so this afternoon. Any lingering showers will mainly be along and south of I-70, with a better chance near I-44. Despite the clouds and light rain, southwesterly winds up to 15 mph will help temperatures rise to near 60 degrees today.

TONIGHT: Clouds will gradually clear out as we head into the night, as a cold front tracks through the region. Overnight lows will only bottom out in the mid 40s, with winds shifting out of the northwest up to 11 mph as a cold front moves through the area.

EXTENDED: Overnight lows Friday drop into the mid 40s will create a cool start if you’re heading out to the Homecoming Parade at 9 AM Saturday. Temperatures will warm to near 60 Saturday afternoon with mostly sunny and it will be breezy, with northwesterly winds at 10-15 mph, gusting to 30 mph at times. Saturday night will be colder with widespread frost as lows dip into the low 30s. The sunny, dry weather continues Sunday but it will be cooler with highs in the mid 50s. Highs into the beginning of next week rebound into the low to mid 60s Monday and Tuesday but another cold front will cool us down a bit next Wednesday with a chance of rain Wednesday night into Thursday.
