Glasgow schools battle bed bugs

Glasgow’s elementary and high schools will treat the buildings for bedbugs on Friday.

The district assistant superintendent said in a letter to parents dated Tuesday that bed bugs have traveled into the schools in students’ backpacks. The buildings will be treated Friday and no students will be allowed inside after 7:30 a.m., Sonya Fuemmeler wrote in the letter. They’ll reopen when school resumes Monday.

School officials are talking to the local health department to get more guidance, Fuemmeler wrote.
